Many such information boards are placed along the canal. They explain its history or some canal buildings. In Pfeiferhütte we can read the following:
"At many places landing stages for loading of local goods where created. Using the stages was free of charge, permission of the lock- or canal keeper was enough. The storage facilities at the landing stages were made up of timber and sometimes of stone material from nearby. The landing stage in Pfeifferhütte had a 48 m long wharf. It was mainly a reloading point for cereal."
